I'm born and raised in Lahaina, Maui and I started Designs by Kai back in 2021 when I was a senior in high school. I started out as a sticker business, printing and cutting every sticker with my cricut machine! Life threw some curveballs my way over the past few years, and I took a break from my business. I was always creative and artistic and I thought, "what should I do with these designs?" and while enjoying my time as a stay-at-home mom to my firstborn, Alan-Kaniela, I learned how to create surface patterns and I wanted to share my art and creativity through Aloha wear and accessories for everyone! All designs are created by me, inspired by my home, specifically Maui but, Hawai'i in general.
